Small Heart with Hummer Scissor Fob

Allergies, baseball and taxes - what do they have in common? They have all combined to keep me distracted from posting on my blog! A whole week has crept by! I have been doing some charting and have a couple of charts to post, although I haven't stitched them up yet. The one I'm posting today is the one I'm planning to stitch up tonight when I get home. Maybe I'll get a chance to get it and the baseball flat-fold easel completely done and photographed by Sunday.

Baseball Chart Pics

Well, as usual, I'm running a little behind...the stitching is done but I wasn't happy with the backing fabric I had so I was delayed a day or two waiting to get some new fabric. In the meantime I took a couple of pictures of the stitched piece. I have the fabric I need now so maybe I will be able to get the flat-fold easel made tonight or tomorrow.

SBQ

Well, I'm new at this, and I hope I do it correctly.

The SBQ question for this week is: How do you decide which stitching blogs are worth repeat and/or regular viewings? Are there certain things you look for in particular? Are there things you wish there were more of? Less of? Is your blog a good example of what you like to read?

I like brief, to-the-point entries, updated often, with lots of pictures or free charts, or both. I prefer pictures of completed projects to WIPs. Most of my favorite stitching blogs seem to be French sites - they seem to fit my criteria best. I don't speak French but have learned to recognize key phrases to find the stitching things I'm interested in and I don't spend a lot of time reading parts I'm not interested in. They show a lot of creative finishing ideas and seem to delight in variations of their designs that stitchers come up with. I like for stitching blogs to be about stitching! I think my blog is a good example of what I like - except for the lack of links to other sites of interest, something I hope to rectify soon.

Baseball Charts

BASEBALL IS BACK! Any other baseball fans out there? If so, I think you'll like today's chart. There are two versions to choose from. The colors can easily be changed to suit your fabric color or your favorite team's colors. The black dots mark the areas to place the charms. I got my pewter baseball charms at my local Hobby Lobby, but they should be available at most craft or bead stores. They can be ordered online at http://www.watchfaces-charms.com/charms-1-category.htm. I am stitching this up today, hopefully I will have it finished tomorrow - I will post a picture as soon as it's finished. I'm doing mine on 14ct Aida because all I could find locally in the right shade of green was 14 or 18 count Aida. I plan to finish it as a flatfold easel rather than framing it.

Three Flowers Chart

Wow! Where does the time go?!? I can't believe it's already the 4th of April! I've been working on some new charts and I didn't realize how many days have passed since I posted last. So, here is a new little spring/summer design. Use whatever colors you like, I think I'll only post color keys if it's really important to the design.
